Why do I need an email address to sign up?

We need an email address as a primary point of contact for your account so that we can send you:

  • The setup details once the account has been created
  • Any quota warnings should you get close to or reach your monthly message quotas
  • Username / password reminders if you should lose or forget them
  • Spam complaint notifications
  • Renewal notices

The email address you supply when you first sign up is not the only email address you can use to 'send' mail using the service - see Can I use AuthSMTP to send mail from multiple email addresses? for more details.
