Do I need to make changes to my MX (mail exchange) records?

No - MX (mail exchange) DNS records are typically only to change where your incoming mail is delivered to. AuthSMTP only handles outgoing mail - so no changes should usually be required.

Your domain must still have valid DNS and MX records, and the addresses you send from must be able to receive replies, bounces and error messages. Do not point your inbound MX records at AuthSMTP.

Before a customer-owned sending domain can be authorised, it must publish a valid SPF record, publish a valid DMARC record, and have verified AuthSMTP DKIM signing. p=none is acceptable as a starting DMARC monitoring policy, with a planned progression to p=quarantine and then p=reject after checking reports and alignment.

Your SPF record must include AuthSMTP and every other service legitimately sending mail for your domain. Publish one complete SPF record rather than a separate record for AuthSMTP.
